Donald Trump hits the panic button as his political leverage slips away amid disastrous transition period
According to Washington Post reporter Jacqueline Alemany, things are not so jolly behind the walls of Mar-a-lago. There is a growing fear, she explained on MSNBC, that Donald Trump is letting Republican Senators run roughshod over him.
With the Gaetz nomination imploding and the Hegseth nomination well on its way to doing the same, some of Trump’s closest aides fear he will not be able to implement his agenda because Senators — republican senators- are finally standing to him.
These people close to Rump are urging him to stand by Hegseth and not let the Senate “neuter” him. I find this all a bit hysterical.
First off — Hegseth is not getting through. He won’t be confirmed. He just won’t. He won’t because no one is “neutering” Donald Trump. It is because Hegseth is a bad choice. Remember Occam’s razor. Sometimes, the simplest explanation is the RIGHT explanation.
So yes, these people can howl until the cows come home. The bottom line is that Trump nominated terrible people. He also nominated them far too soon — before appropriate background checks could be done. If these people close to Trump had thought processes that mirrored sanity and logic, they’d already know this.
