These new numbers are ugly for Donald Trump
Well, well, well. A new poll is out and it is not good news for Donald Trump. According to Scripps News, their poll with Ipsos found that a shocking SIXTY-FOUR percent of respondents oppose any pardons for the J-6th terrorists.
Remember how we talked about driving down Trump’s approval ratings? It looks like we have a good starting point. Almost 70% of Independent voters said they are opposed to these pardons. Trump, as you’ll recall, made that part of his campaign. Pick me, he lamented. And I’ll pardon, some terrorists! Pick me, and I’ll throw away their prison keys and release them into the wild!
Well, it is no surprise that the American people, most of whom are sane, do not like that idea. And why should they? These people are CRIMINALS. They shouldn’t be pardoned. Of course, many of them think they WILL be set free. There have been a few interviews with these prisoners, and they sit like eager and tremulous little hounds, waiting, eyes shining with cult-love for their beloved master to glide (or in Trump’s case, stumble) down the prison corridors to open those cell doors.
Only now Trump might want to rethink this decision. Because the American people hate it and don’t want these paragons of fake reality anywhere near them. What’s a traitor to do? In this poll, the only group of people who DO want pardons are Republicans. It figures. As you know, Republicans don’t consider breaking the law a questionable activity.
STILL, not all Republicans are on board. Only 56 percent said they were in favor of pardons, which shows SOME Republicans still have their sanity intact. So we’ll see what happens. Trump hates it when his numbers fall, and he is desperate for people to like him, so he may not be as amendable to pardons as he once was. Stay tuned.
