“Matt Gaetz is a sex trafficking drug addicted piece of shit.” Chances are, you probably assumed this was written by someone on your social media feed, but it was actually written by conservative Fox News contributor Ben Domenech in a searing new takedown where he calls out the life of hypocrisy the former Florida rep has led and his breathtaking lack of qualifications.

The fact is that Gaetz actually has a whole lot of people who hate him – and the piece hints that we’re not even close to hearing all the nasty details about him as the appointment process draws nearer. Whether or not we actually see the report on Gaetz itself, we’re almost certainly going to hear a great deal about what all is actually in it, and that’s definitely not good news for Gaetz or his party as this story continues to play out.

This is a prime example of why we don’t freeze out of the gate at whatever the latest development in Trump world is. That’s exactly what we’re expected to do – and to just assume that somehow he’s going to get his way automatically. Let’s ridicule Gaetz and all of these other awful nominees that we’re seeing – and keep pushing your reps and senators (whether they’re Democrats or not) to oppose this nomination.
