The media has fallen and it can’t get up

The elevator has plunged to the bottom of the ratings building, and as expected, many passengers are leaving and will leave.

CNN is expected to make many cuts in the upcoming months. Many anchors will lose their positions, and it is rumored that Anderson Cooper is on the chopping block.

Chris Wallace has resigned, although, according to Puck, there’s more to it than that. But basically, ALL the networks will possibly be making cuts. This is because they have no audience.

I remain amazed by the obtuseness of the media in question. They are disconnected and out of touch with reality and what their FORMER viewers want to see. It would be pretty easy to fix the problem.

This writer’s fix:

Hire talented AND, charismatic, and honest journalists who do not both sides everything. And these journalists are out there. They should look to the Palmer Report for inspiration. Nobody here both sides anything and nobody here lies. We write honestly about Capitol Hill’s machinations and are passionate about our work.

Not so in other places. Sometimes, when I tune in to CNN, for example, ( and I do this so you don’t have to), I see an elevator full of bored and tiresome people, looking like they desperately need a cup of hot coffee to keep their eyes from fluttering with sleepiness. Maybe more than one.

I see round tables filled with screaming also-ran’s who know nothing, say nothing, and are paid handsomely to do it.

I RARELY see the ghosts of good journalism past, but I do see a gibber-gabber of meaningless words that SAY very little even though the flapping jaws of the ones saying the words never do stop moving.

So they’ve done this to themselves. I do not feel the slightest pang of sympathy for them. I”d like to say these people will be replaced with the quality journalists these networks need, but that might be asking far too much.
