Where’s Trump?
As inexplicable and disturbing as it may sound, Donald Trump is technically the President-elect of the United States. So where is he? He gave a lethargic “victory” speech to a group of supporters on Wednesday, and since then he’s pretty much pulled a vanishing act.
While there have been a few generic posts on Trump’s social media pages since he was named the winner, these were all clearly crafted by his staffers. Trump hasn’t made a single post of his own. He’s basically nowhere. Trump is making no attempt whatsoever to go out and identify or establish himself as the President-elect. Instead he’s just… not there.
This isn’t particularly surprising. Trump is in such incredibly poor physical and cognitive condition, his campaign babysitters had to cancel a ton of his public appearances down the stretch – and whenever he did surface, he lumbered around and spoke completely incoherently. Trump is a fully senile individual who appears to be succumbing to dementia on a cognitive and physical level. That hasn’t changed just because he’s “won” the election.
It’s revealing that Trump’s babysitters haven’t even really tried to put him out there in the wake of the election. Trump clearly never wanted to run again, and he certainly never wanted to be President again; he was open about only running to try to stay out of prison. Now that he’s won, perhaps the shock of having to be President again has finished him off cognitively. Or maybe his babysitters are simply too afraid to put him out there for fear he’ll start talking about sharks and cannibals and end up entering office with an even lower approval rating than last time.
We all know that a senile Trump is merely going to be a figurehead this time around, and that his babysitters, clingers, and extremist sidekicks are going to be running the show. But you’d think that these folks would at least be trying to put him out there. This just sends a signal to Americans that they mistakenly elected a guy who doesn’t want the job and can’t even pretend to fake it.
