Something’s brewing in Florida
There is some striking news from the “Home by the sea” state. I speak of beautiful Florida. It APPEARS that still waters maybe running deep — with Puerto Rican Kamala voters. Florida, a state that has voted blue before and will again, is once more a battleground. Does that mean we will win the sunshine state? No. But there IS some VERY interesting news.
What IS happening, if this new poll is to be believed, is that Puerto Ricans are spurning Donald Trump — and spurning him but good. This poll, conducted by the Puerto Rico Research Hub, shows that more than 8 in 10 now support Kamala Harris. Those are pretty stunning numbers, they truly are.
This poll between October 21 and 30 found that 85% of the people interviewed would notes for Kamala. Donald Trump received 8% of the vote. This is only one poll with a rather large margin of error (eight percentage points). It also has a small sample. There were 150 Puerto Ricans surveyed.
But the thing is, OTHER polls in Florida and other swing states like Pennsylvania have shown similar patterns. Many of these respondents are turned off by the comments made at Madison Square Garden about their lovely island. If these results are to be believed, there seems to be a mass exodus by Puerto Ricans from the GOP.
They seem angry not just at the comments, but by Donald trump’s reaction to them. Rather than apologizing, Trump doubled down, calling the incident a lovefest and saying there has never been an event “so beautiful.”
Now, this most definitely does not mean we’re winning there. But the Home by the Sea state offers valuable insight into these voters. Because if this translates into OTHER states, particularly SWING states, that could spell utter and complete doom for the Trump campaign. And it just might. Stay tuned.
