It’s a mystery at this point
The main difference between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is that all Trump can think and speak about is revenge. He wants to get back at his perceived enemies, including Special Counsel Jack Smith, whom he said he would “fire in two minutes.” What Jack Smith has done “wrong” is go after Trump; he went where his investigations led him. He’s not an “enemy of the state” nor did he have some nefarious reason to link the evidence together and follow where it took him. In fact, Smith is quite a talented prosecutor, but Trump doesn’t care about that. As far as he’s concerned, Jack Smith targeted him and went after him. My response to that is an old cliché: if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime. Donald Trump is a career criminal, so it’s natural that getting back at people comes to his feeble mind.
Kamala Harris is the antithesis of Trump. She’s upbeat, fun, and she addresses supporters with a sincerity we do not often see in politics. She wants her last few appearances to be memorable, so she traveled to Georgia again with former President Obama and “the Boss” in tow. She’s also planning another event featuring Beyonce in Texas. According to Bloomberg, while in Texas she has plans to talk about Colin Allred, who is doing a great job against Ted Cruz. No, Vice President Harris isn’t perfect, and she doesn’t have all the answers, but she will try to get them. She genuinely wants people to do better than we’ve been doing in the past. For that alone, she deserves to win this election.
There are signs of sexism in this race. President Obama chided Black men about not supporting Harris enough. Some of them took it personally, and those votes may well go to Trump. The Latino male population is also leaning toward Trump. There is no proof that they don’t want to vote for a woman, but why else would they choose someone who does nothing for them? In fact, ABC News recently reported that Trump is receiving some backlash from a racist comment he made about Vanessa Guillén, a soldier who was murdered while Trump was in office. He openly complained about the cost of paying for her funeral, even after promising her family during a meeting that he would do so. According to someone in the meeting, when he was told how much the funeral would cost, he said: “It doesn’t cost $60,000 bucks to bury a f-ing Mexican,” and he promptly told Mark Meadows not to pay. Incredulously, her sister supports Trump, and according to NBC News, Trump has expanded his support among Hispanic men this year. It boggles the mind that this blatant racist has the support of anyone of color, and considering his focus, no one should support him.
Instead of talking about the economy, immigration, and other issues of importance to the American people, all Trump does is talk about himself and his plans to harm his enemies if reelected. What anyone thinks he’s going to do for them is a mystery.
