The power of four
By now everyone has made up their minds, right? Kamala Harris and Donald Trump have been on full display for months. Everyone has seen who they are. Everyone surely knows by now what side they’re on. So what’s the point of these final two weeks?
You see, there’s a major flaw in the “everyone has made up their minds by now” narrative. Yes it’s true that by now most people have decided whether they like Kamala or Trump better. But millions of people still have yet to decide whether they’re going to bother to go vote for the one they like better.
Most people aren’t like you and me. We’d crawl over broken glass to vote for Kamala Harris. But millions of Americans don’t pay attention to politics on a daily basis. They’re not activists. They can clearly see that Kamala is the better choice, and they’ve already decided that if they’re going to vote it’ll be for her. But are they going to bother to vote? Life gets in the way. People have lives. Their kid has a doctor appointment on election day and they forget about voting.
That’s where we come in. Yes, it’s once again you and me – the same you and me that elections always come down to. We’ve already either voted early or we have a rock solid plan for how to vote on election day. With that out of the way, we get to spend these final two weeks making sure other people on our side also vote.
If you have a little time you can do that on a bigger scale by phone banking or knocking on doors. But even if you can’t make that kind of commitment, you can still call or text three of your relatives, friends, coworkers, or neighbors who favor Kamala and help make sure they vote. If you do that, you’ve delivered four votes for Kamala Harris instead of just your own one vote. Multiply that by the hundreds of thousands of people reading this, and that’s the election right there. Like I said, it comes down to you and me. Those of you reading this can collectively change the outcome of the election by a million votes or more. So let’s each go get Kamala three additional votes or more. It’s all we need.
