Former Trump adviser admits Donald Trump is completely “f—ed”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Now that the arrests and guilty pleas have begun in Donald Trump’s Russia scandal, the very real question has surfaced as to how much longer Trump’s presidency can survive. Some of his former advisers are now openly admitting to the media that they fear impeachment or the 25th Amendment is coming. One former adviser in particular has taken a look at Trump’s freefall and succinctly concluded that Trump is “f—ed.”

That’s the word from a startling new profile from Vanity Fair, which documents the various desperate ideas that Trump’s remaining allies are now pitching in the hope of staving off the inevitable. Steve Bannon has told him to challenge Robert Mueller’s legitimacy. Roger Stone has urged him to call for a Special Counsel to investigate imaginary Hillary Clinton scandals (link). And then there’s the one former Trump adviser who simply thinks it’s over for Trump.

Former Donald Trump campaign adviser Sam Nunberg believes that Trump’s sinking approval rating is what’s going to finish him off: “Trump is at 33 percent in Gallup. You can’t go any lower. He’s fucked.” This falls roughly in line with the premise that Palmer Report rolled out just before Trump took office: if his approval rating drops into the twenties, he’ll have become so toxically unpopular that the Republican Congress will have no choice but to try to finish him off, for fear that his toxicity will take them down as well. One Trump adviser thinks the GOP is gearing up to do just that.

In that same Vanity Fair piece, Donald Trump’s former campaign adviser and longtime friend has warned him that the Republican Congress is now simply looking for an excuse to go ahead and impeach him, so the GOP can try to take credit for having taken out its own trash. This is getting uglier for Trump by the hour.
