Being a liar can be an exhausting job. In addition to remembering every lie, the liar has to assume the right facial expressions and tone of voice, say the right things, and be slick and smooth while still maintaining an aura of empathy. It’s a dirty job, and JD Vance didn’t do it.

“That is a damning non answer.” That was Coach Walz’s response to Vance refusing to talk about the 2020 election results. See, that’s the thing with liars. They have to please the people at the top of the food chain, and for JD, there is only one person at the top of the food chain. There is only one person, one traitor, one McDonald’s fanatic at the top of the food chain, trying to eat up democracy and failing miserably.

Two things of note from this writer:

Number one, Vance actually lost the debate as soon as he started fighting with the moderators, and number two, he HUMILIATED himself and lost AGAIN, when he did a belly flop live on stage and could not respond to Walz that yes, Joe Biden is the lawful president.

It was the belly flop seen and heard worldwide, as the fish in the net tried desperately to get out as millions of people watched in real-time. The second thing is this: The last thing said is usually what people remember, so let’s talk about what was said. JD Vance could not answer a question. He was smooth. This writer knew he would be. He was smooth and slithery in the fashion of Fox News. Vance tried to be a little fox himself, but he was outfoxed by Tim Walz.

Some people say Tim’s most decisive moment was abortion, and I’ll say it was a great moment, but I think his most decisive moment was the last question about Democracy. Electricity. What is electricity as it pertains to a debate? It’s when the moment crackles. It’sf fireworks. It’s when the moment is infused with raw honesty and feeling and becomes alive and palpable as any human being.

That last answer from JD Vance showed him for the Con Man he is. It was a stunning moment, and I even wrote in my notes, “Vance forfeits debate, Tim wins.” Everybody saw it. VP debates don’t usually matter, so they say. I think this one will. In the beginning, this writer wanted Tim to be angrier, to demolish Vance immediately.

But life is a series of lessons, and this writer is not indifferent from those lessons. What Walz did was compelling, vivid, and palpable, but I don’t think he could’ve done it any better. Tim Walz was the clear winner of the debate. I will end with this: what fun it was to see JD’s mic get turned off
