Something is wrong with Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno

Among the closest and most-watched Senate races of 2024 is Sherrod Brown’s difficult re-election battle in Ohio where he’s been polling ahead of the scandal ridden car salesman Bernie Moreno. Although the once notorious swing state is quickly becoming solid red, Brown is one of the most prominent Democrats in the Senate up against a fairly weak opponent, so a smaller loss for the Harris-Walz ticket than what Joe Biden had in 2020 could make up the difference for that seat – not to mention the chaos that JD Vance stupidly brought to his home state with racist comments about the state’s Haitian immigrants.

Considering how big of a clown Vance is, you wouldn’t think that someone else would be able to sabotage the race in such a way that they could cause a scandal that ties them directly to the worst things middle of the road voters think about Republicans.

You would be wrong. Moreno really is such a terrible candidate that he decided to go there and run his mouth about abortion at a town hall on Friday. Of course, there’s a video of him making the comments, where he called anyone who supports reproductive freedom “a single-issue voter,” and said he doesn’t think it’s an issue for anyone over 50 – echoing the common Republican sentiment that voters can only think of themselves and not how policies can affect their children or grandchildren.

It’s already clear that as red as Ohio is, they’ve stepped up when it comes to voting for pro-choice ballot initiatives, and the GOP’s terrible approach of leaving things to the states has never looked worse. Let’s do what we can to protect Sherrod Brown’s seat in Ohio and give Kamala Harris a Democratic Senate to govern with on Nov 5. Donate to Sherrod Brown here.
