Here’s the thing about Donald Trump and Laura Loomer

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has been taking right wing conspiracy theorist whack job Laura Loomer around with him on the campaign trail. Given how patently insane and offensive her remarks often are, it’s been creating real problems for Trump. Some prominent Republican office holders have been publicly calling for it to end. Trump himself has sorta kinda but not really tried to publicly distance himself from her. And now some prominent yet unreliable right wing loons are claiming that there’s something going on between Trump and Loomer.

Here’s the thing. I don’t have any idea what the deal is with Trump and Loomer, and I don’t care. As far as I’m concerned, right wing pundits like Loomer are only ever looking for attention, whether it’s of the positive or negative kind (it’s their business model), and I’m not really inclined to give it to them.

But because Trump has been stupid enough to take someone like Loomer around on the campaign trail with him, it’s created a real mess for Trump world and the Republican Party. Trump’s prominent allies are now left publicly squabbling over whether Loomer is good or bad. It’s a distracting sideshow for them. It’s keeping them from being able to focus on, you know, winning.

Meanwhile an increasing number of folks on our side are out there phone banking, knocking on doors, helping drive voter registration and turnout, and doing things that make a difference in the outcome. You love to see it. Let the other side implode over sideshow stuff. We’re going to keep working to run up the score.
