One thing that has been clear since President Joe Biden took the oath of office on January 20, 2021, is that the Biden-Harris administration takes key issues seriously and follows through on plans and promises. This stands in stark contrast to Donald Trump, who would proudly declare something like Infrastructure Week only to turn that lip service into a full-fledged joke to match his failed administration.

In advance of Labor Day, Biden issued a proclamation to “celebrate the dignity of America’s workers and the labor unions they have built.” He pointed out how his modest upbringing led him to promise “to be the most pro-labor, pro-union President in history and ensure unions have the support they need to fight for our workers.”

Biden then recapped what his administration has been doing toward this effort. For example, he pointed out that he established the White House Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment, which led to more than 70 actions to promote worker organizing and collective bargaining. As Biden pointed out, Vice President Kamala Harris is the one who has directed this task force.

Labor Day fell on September 2 this year. Although several days have passed, the Biden-Harris administration continues its work and leadership in this arena. As I write (on Friday, September 6), Biden is heading to Michigan to sign the “Good Jobs EO” (Executive Order on Investing in America and Investing in American Workers), a landmark action that will help give Americans high-quality jobs with paths to the middle class.

The Good Jobs EO signing event is one part of a tour that will showcase workers and communities across the country who are benefiting from the Biden-Harris Administration’s Investing in America agenda. With initiatives including the American Rescue Plan, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS and Science Act, and Inflation Reduction Act, Biden and Harris have already created hundreds of thousands of jobs that offer workers a “free and fair chance” to join a labor union.

You can read more about this latest example of how the Biden-Harris administration works tirelessly and consistently to get the job done when it comes to improving the lives of Americans in a new White House fact sheet. As early voting soon begins, Americans should know that a vote for Harris-Walz will ensure that this legacy of dedication, results, and sincerity can continue and strengthen even further.
