Like a hurricane

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I was sleeping when it happened. The pounding on the door started in earnest as the bells began to ring. I was not at home—not at all. I was with a group of friends. We were vacationing in a little house, a cottage, if you will, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. However, we were forced to leave our vacation behind when the knocks and bells started. It turned out Hurricane Bertha was on her way. We ran. I think now of another hurricane — the hurricane that has lodged itself inside Donald trumps mind. Please allow me to explain. Multiple people are saying that Kamala Harris (soon to be President) has “gotten under Trump’s skin.”

Tara Setmayor, a frequent guest on MSNBC, is one of those people. She spoke about it on Tuesday. Tara said that the trump team likely knows Harris has extraordinary capabilities and that her being a former prosecutor is likely scaring the shit out of Donald Trump.

“He is ill-prepared to be challenged, by, not only a woman but a woman of color.” This is true and is likely why Trump frequently threatens to back out of the debate, something he won’t do but is NOT looking forward to. It sounds like he’s dreading it.

She also remarked on how innovative the Harris team is by poking and prodding Trump (my words.) She is, said Tara, “Getting under his skin.”

Here is the truth: When one gets under someone’s skin, the irritated person usually has a heck of a time getting them out. Harris has, as so many say, moved into Trump’s brain (NOT a good place to be), and she’s renting space there. He hears her mockery every day.

You know, this getting under Trump’s skin is in itself its own hurricane — the long, pounding hurricane of Donald Trump’s nightmares — as Hurricane Kamala moves in with glee, sets up shop and stays for a good long time.
