This just keeps getting stranger
For the nearly a decade that Donald Trump has been running for office, he’s always insisted that he’s winning at any given point in time. If he’s ahead in the polls he claims he’s twice as far ahead as he is. If he’s behind in the polls, he claims the polls are rigged and insists he’s secretly ahead.
That’s why it was so startling when Trump shared a quote on social media on Friday night from one of his own allies, which simply said “Wake the f**k up … we are losing.” Normal politicians generally admit when they’re behind, and they try to use it as a rallying cry to motivate their base to go out and work harder. But never Trump. Why is he suddenly admitting that he’s losing?
Now it’s gotten stranger. Trump has gone ten hours today without posting anything at all on social media. First he publicly admits (for the first time in his life) that he’s losing, then he goes silent altogether. Is Trump finally, fully falling apart?
