New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu spoke to CNN on Friday and made a shocking (and absurd) prediction. Chris declared that Donald Trump is so savvy (my word), so attuned to the polls (which show him losing my words) that he is about to once again pivot and ‘change his “traditional habits.”

My gosh, how deep does the denial go? OK — lots to unpack here. First, Sununu isn’t the only one to say this. Many delusional Republicans have made similar comments. This shows something very important about the party in red.

They are—some of them anyway—STILL living in deep denial. They have not yet made their own pivot—the pivot to where they accept their messiah is certifiable. Any Republican who still thinks Trump CAN change needs at least one very long therapy session. Sorry, Charlie. It isn’t possible.

I’d suggest SOMEONE starts handing out books about malignant narcissism and the anti-social personality to republicans because SOMEONE needs to tell them. Not that they’d be likely to listen anyway. How could these people fail to see the illness hanging over their candidate like an impenetrable spider’s web? How could they ignore what their brain hears, the cackles of utter insanity from their fearful leader?

What do they think he will do? Do they think he is a ballerina, dancing On pointe, able to pivot gracefully when the music calls for it?

If so, they are as delusional as their leader. Pivots can only happen with awareness. Donald Trump doesn’t have any awareness! One might as well ask for the sun to stop shining, the earth to stop moving, or the stars to stop shining.

Chris Sununu can wait and wait – and wait — with his other Republican buddies for some imaginary pivot, but it will never come.
Trump will stay in one place only, will remain stuck in the dance of the draconian, frozen in time, as Republicans wait for a second act that will never come.
