I don’t need to tell you how well the first night of the Democratic National Convention is going; you’re all watching it. But here’s what’s fascinating. Even as this inspiring and joyful evening has played out for the Democratic Party, Donald Trump has said… nothing.
That’s right, in the hours since the Democratic National Convention primetime lineup started, Trump hasn’t made a single Truth Social post about the convention. So what’s going on? Is Trump so deep into dementia, his handlers were able to trick him into watching Barney the Dinosaur reruns instead? Did they hide Trump’s phone? Or is Trump simply stunned into silence by how poorly this is going for him?
We’ll see. For now it’s remarkable that Donald Trump isn’t even trying to fight back. But that’s increasingly been the trend of late, right? He’s barely even out on the campaign trail. And now he appears to have given up fighting during the Democratic National Convention. Good.
