This is just getting surreal

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It has now been approximately a week and a half since Kamala Harris officially entered the presidential race. As Alicia Keys might say, “this girl is on fire.” She had a very successful rally in Atlanta to a packed house, which included Senators Warnock and Ossoff, Stacey Abrams, and rappers Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion. People of all colors filled the arena, holding up their “Kamala” signs. One woman sitting behind Harris shook her sign wildly when Harris talked about women being able to control their own bodies. Republicans should know by now how important this issue is to women, yet they continue their draconian ways. They must be uniquely stupid.

Harris has obliterated the leads that Trump held over President Biden, and in some cases, she has taken the lead. The Hill reported that Harris is up by 4 in Pennsylvania, while Bloomberg reported that Harris “has wiped out Donald Trump’s lead across seven battleground states.” Then, Newsweek reported that Harris is up by 12 in the latest Michigan poll. This survey was also conducted by Bloomberg, and when asked specifically for whom they would vote, 51% of respondents chose Harris to 39% for Trump and 5% for RFK, Jr. Michigan has 15 electoral votes, so winning that state is vital for Harris. While Trump holds a slight edge in six of the swing states, they are within the margin of error. Let’s see how things look next week, especially since reports are that Harris plans to announce her vice-presidential running mate Tuesday, just before her Pennsylvania rally.

And what is Donald Trump doing while all the attention is on Harris? Finding people to insult. Raw Story reported on Trump’s agreement with a radio host who called Doug Emhoff “a crappy Jew.” Trump appeared on “Sid & Friends in the Mornings,” where he claimed that Jewish people must support him or risk harming their faith. He claimed that “a lot of Jewish people don’t like Israel” and said: “If you’re Jewish and you vote for a Democrat, you’re a fool, an absolute fool.” He also claimed that they must “hate their religion.” How would he know? Trump knows nothing about religion. He needs to save that bullshit for the fake Christians who think he parted the red sea. The host said: “… They tell me that this is Harris’ husband. Doug Emhoff is Jewish. He’s Jewish like Bernie Sanders is Jewish. Are you kidding me? He’s a crappy Jew, he’s a horrible Jew.” What assholes; they don’t know this man. Trump and his friends had better get used to the news centering around Harris because she is building quite a coalition, especially Gen Z and millennials, who are pumped up.

Allan Litchman has successfully predicted the outcome of presidential elections since 1984. He had every one of them right except the Gore/Bush matchup, but many believe that Gore won, and SCOTUS gave it to Bush. Litchman uses “keys” to predict the winner, and though he has not yet predicted the outcome of the 2024 election, he said: “A lot would have to go wrong for Harris to lose.” Let’s make sure he’s right.
