Kamala Harris pulls ahead of Donald Trump in three more national polls
A few days after Kamala Harris entered the 2024 presidential race, the Reuters IPSOS poll showed her four points ahead of Donald Trump. Since that time other polls have showed the race tied. We’ve been waiting for other national polls to come in, and now we’re starting to see an interesting picture.
The new national poll from Morning Consult has Kamala Harris one point ahead of Donald Trump. The new national poll from Mainstreet USA has Harris two points ahead of Trump, which is notable because Trump was ahead of Biden by five points the last time this poll was conducted. And the new Redfield and Wilton poll has Harris up by two points.
As always, any one poll has to be taken with a great deal of skepticism. But when multiple polls are all saying roughly the same thing, it becomes a more reliable indicator of what’s going on.
From the start, Palmer Report has said that if Kamala Harris can get ahead of Trump by three points or more in the national polling averages, it’ll put her in the driver’s seat. Such a lead would prevent the media from being able to go negative on her prospects at any point. And it would place immense pressure on Trump to go ahead and roll the dice and try debating her.
