One would think NOW that the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics has been explained, you’d think NOW that Republicans who lashed out at said ceremony have been left with egg on their (angry) faces, you’d think that NOW that the dust has settled, the GOP would back the heck off.

Not a chance. They persist, stern and unyielding toward anything that does not fit their insane worldview. Republicans are doubling down! Apparently, they hate ancient Greek Mythology as much as they hate everything else. ( I KNEW there was a reason I came out of the womb despising Republicans; suddenly, it all makes sense!)

Several Republicans are not satisfied with the explanation that was given. To recap — republicans lashed out at the opening ceremony, saying it was meant to mock Christianity, causing the Olympics to put out a statement saying the opening ceremony was a nod to mythology and Dionysus, the Greek God of wine.

The Republicans’ main issue seems to be the perceived disrespect towards their religious beliefs. Insane, yes? But as you know, insanity rarely takes a break in the GOP. “GROSS MOCKERY.”

One Republican went as far as to call the ceremony a ‘GROSS MOCKERY.’ It’s hard to believe but many Republicans are now claiming they’re actually BOYCOTTING the Olympics. It’s a stark departure from the family values they so often preach. After all, the Olympics are about as family-friendly as it gets.

An email asking for money from Alt-right maniac Brian Brown called it: “sexual radicalism.” This is NOT the way to win any election, but what can I say? The opening ceremony that Republicans despised was quite innovative and fun.

Most people, at least those without the vast hangups of the GOP likely did enjoy it. But Republicans with their sourpuss faces and their thin and tight lipped sneers seem unable to give into a sense of fun, a feeling of playfulness. Instead, they come off as the weirdos that they are.
