What’s really going on with the Biden Hollywood donor story

The media is now claiming that a major Hollywood donor has met with President Biden to inform him that Hollywood donations have ceased as long as he remains in the race. Even if this story is true (you never know with the media these days), I think we have to put it in the right context.

Over the past few weeks the entire media has created a fictional environment in which everyone thinks Biden is hopelessly behind and has no chance of winning. Back in the real world, the polls are roughly tied, and the latest 538 model says Biden is more likely to win than Trump. And history suggests that the Democrats would be putting themselves in a major hole by picking a nominee at the convention who would be getting off to a very late start in the race.

But if you only listen to the media, and not the actual facts, you would indeed think that Biden has no chance of winning. You might think that the only chance the Democrats have is if they replace Biden. You might even mistakenly think you’re doing something heroic by trying to force Biden out of the race. I suspect that’s what we’re seeing right now, from well meaning people who really do want Trump to be defeated, but don’t really understand what’s going on with the race – because the media has been lying to them.

So let’s say that Hollywood has stopped donating to the Biden campaign in a well meaning but misguided attempt at forcing him out. Once Biden officially becomes the nominee at the convention, these same folks are going to understand that Biden is indeed our only chance at defeating Trump. And they’ll presumably get back on board with donating to him.

In the meantime, we have to brace ourselves for this ongoing disinformation campaign by the media, which is one of the ugliest and most corrupt things in the history of our nation. How do we overcome it? Start treating the media like an opponent who has to be fact checked and shouted down. And start thinking of yourselves as the only thing that can save us.
