Mike Johnson suffers surreal teleprompter malfunction

It’s normal for politicians to use teleprompters so they don’t have to memorize their entire speech word for word. It’s also a given that sooner or later the teleprompter is going to give out in some way, so politicians have to be sharp enough to speak off the cuff when it happens.

This brings us to “Speaker” of the House Mike Johnson, who is not in any way sharp. When he suffered at teleprompter malfunction at the Republican National Convention today, he reacted in surreal fashion:

That’s right, Mike Johnson is such a dimly lit bulb that his response to a teleprompter malfunction is to run off the stage like it’s a Milli Vanilli lip sync malfunction.
