President Biden speaks from Oval Office about Trump shooting
President Joe Biden addressed the nation this evening in the wake of yesterday’s Trump shooting. Biden condemned political violence of all kinds, and cited the Paul Pelosi attack, the attempted kidnapping of Gretchen Whitmer, January 6th attack, and the Trump shooting as examples of unacceptable political violence.
Biden also expressed his condolences for the innocent person who was killed at the Trump rally, while pointing out that the person was merely expressing his first amendment right to attend the rally.
Biden sounded more presidential than ever as he called on all sides to bring the temperature down and reminded everyone that elections should be decided at the ballot box, not with bullets. Biden concluded his Oval Office address with this: “Let’s remember we are the United States of America. There is nothing, nothing, nothing beyond our capacity when we do it together.”
