There’s a lot of hay being made in the media over the handful of House Democrats, largely in swing districts, that have called on President Biden to drop out over a tough 15-minute start he had in a debate performance over the summer that most people will have forgotten about by Labor Day, but not about the prominent Republicans refusing to endorse Donald Trump for president (including his own former vice president). So far no House Republicans have called on their party’s nominee to drop out, but it’s not inaccurate to say that there are at this time, incumbents in Congress calling on Donald Trump to drop out of the race.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Rep. Ted Lieu of California used the media’s latest manufactured controversy to make his own views known. Based on what we currently know about the Epstein files and the logs that show a close relationship between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, as the former guy appeared in Epstein’s numerous call logs and the number of times both flew to Epstein’s island with underaged girls on board, coupled with the fact that Donald Trump has been convicted in civilian court for sexual assault – not to mention 34 criminal counts against him, Lieu called on the former guy to drop out of the race.

It’s past time for the media to ignore this, regardless of how hardened they’ve become to Trump being an unfit politician – and that’s part of why we need to do the heavy lifting ourselves in this election, making sure the public is questioning this as they should, and keeping the former guy far from the White House. Let’s get out the vote and re-elect President Biden and Democrats down ballot on Nov 5.
