President Joe Biden has made some news over the past few days, giving an inspiring speech at an HBCU. Biden has also gotten some good news, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average crossed the 40,000 point mark, a testament to the economy he’s built. But the real news for Biden of late has come from the headlines that he hasn’t been in.

Donald Trump, who is still somehow the presumptive Republican nominee for President, has spent the past few days taking on water from all sides. He tried campaigning on back to back days for the first time in months, and all it did was generate new headlines about his cognitive deterioration. Then Trump was back in court on Monday, which generated a new round of headlines about how he’s a fraudster who’s on criminal trial.

Keep in mind that every negative headline about Trump is a de facto positive headline for Biden. If you’re Biden, you’ve got to be loving this. Trump, just by existing and going through his day, has become a de facto Biden campaign surrogate.
