Donald Trump is already trying to throw his criminal trial attorney under the bus
Even though Donald Trump is sleeping through much of his criminal trial and often seems confused about what’s going on even when he’s awake, even he’s apparently managed to figure out that he’s on track to be convicted. The prosecution is putting on one witness after another spelling out Trump’s overwhelming guilt, and there’s really not much the defense can do to discredit them.
But even if Trump now understands that he’s losing, he never is able to accept that it’s his own fault. So now he’s already turning against his criminal trial attorney, Todd Blanche. Trump is reportedly ranting and raving about Blanche behind the scenes, upset that Blanche isn’t being more forceful in the courtroom, and asking why he’s spending so much money on his legal defense team.
More to the point, Trump’s own people are already leaking to the media about how dissatisfied Trump is with Blanche, which is seemingly a sign that Trump wants everyone to know how displeased he is with Blanche. In other words, Trump is trying to scapegoat Blanche even before the guilty verdict comes in. Now the only question is whether Trump will fire Blanche before the end of the trial, or instead simply keep whining about him.
