Looks like the Supreme Court isn’t buying what Donald Trump is selling today
Even as Donald Trump is on criminal trial in New York, there’s a separate legal proceeding at the Supreme Court in Washington DC to determine when and how Trump will go on federal criminal trial. With this Supreme Court you just never know. But so far it sounds like they’re not buying what Trump is selling.
The liberal Justices and some of the right wing Justices alike are openly questioning Trump’s absurd claim that he had unlimited “presidential immunity” while he was in office.
There is some concern among legal experts that Neil Gorsuch seems to be trying to set up a basis for further delay by remanding the case back to the lower court and then back to the Supreme Court. But remember, all it takes is a majority for this case to be handled correctly. And if the things that the Justices are saying during this hearing is an indication of how they’re going to vote, Trump could very well lose this hearing – and lose it with plenty of time to end up on federal criminal trial before the election.
