“Deranged animal” – Donald Trump gets shredded for lying about dead U.S. soldiers

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump found a new way to desecrate the United States on Monday when he falsely claimed that President Obama didn’t call the families of fallen U.S. soldiers, as he tried to explain away the fact that he still hadn’t called the families of the four U.S. soldiers who died on October 4th. Trump is now being called out for his lie left and right, in devastating fashion.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder tweeted “Stop the damn lying – you’re the President. I went to Dover AFB with 44 and saw him comfort the families of both the fallen military & DEA.” Senator John McCain used his Liberty Medal acceptance speech on Monday night to denounce Trump as being “unpatriotic.” But those outside of politics made some of the most direct condemnations of Trump and his lies about dead U.S. soldiers.

Bestselling author Alyssa Mastromonaco tweeted “that’s a fucking lie. to say president obama (or past presidents) didn’t call the family members of soldiers KIA – he’s a deranged animal.” This was then retweeted by former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who was fired by Trump in an apparent attempt at preventing his own Russia scandal from being properly investigated.

CNN’s Jim Acosta tweeted “WH says POTUS was “stating a fact” about former presidents including Obama not calling families of fallen soldiers. Fact check: False.” His CNN colleague Ana Navarro added “This White House is LITERALLY unbelievable. Trump lies. Then, his enablers double-down on the lies so as to protect their jobs.”
