Over the past week there has been so much doomsday hysteria coming from the anti-Trump side that you’d think Donald Trump must have had one incredible week. But the doomsday hysteria never does line up with reality. And if you stop and take a look at the week that Trump has had, it’s just been brutal for him.

– Trump’s last best shot at indefinitely delaying his New York criminal trial went by the wayside this week, when the trial start date was pretty much locked in for April 15th. Less than a month from today, Trump will be on criminal trial. So much for his ability to keep that from ever happening.

– Trump’s best (and probably only remaining hope) of fending off his Fulton County criminal trial just went out the window, when the judge refused to dismiss the main charges in the case and refused to remove DA Fani Willis from the case.

– Trump struggled mightily to come up with bond at the last minute in the E. Jean Carroll case. Now he has to turn around and come up with a bond five times that amount in his New York civil case, and he only has about two weeks left to pull it off.

– Trump’s most friendly judge out his four criminal cases just shot down his motion to dismiss the charges. Trump was so sure this was going to work, he even appeared in court for the ruling – only to be reminded that no one, not even Judge Aileen Cannon, has a unilateral magic wand for saving him.

– Trump’s first week of having full control over the RNC resulted in a series of embarrassing false moves and gaffes on the part of both new co-chairs. When you announce you’re cutting certain programs in order to save costs and it becomes such an embarrassing news cycle that you have to flip flop on it a few days later and claim you were never going to cut the programs, you’re falling on your face right out of the gate.

– Trump’s allies in the Republican House took such an inept approach to the Robert Hur hearings, it ended up making Trump look bad while making President Biden look good – forcing House Republicans to admit that they’ll never have the votes to impeach Biden. Then a House Republican quit in disgust, making their “majority” even more powerless.

If you spent the past week watching MSNBC or CNN, or following the Twitter pundits who mimic MSNBC and CNN’s narratives in the hope of getting booked for guest spots on those networks, you’d have thought that Trump magically took over the world this week. But back in the real world, what went right for Trump this week? Nothing. What went wrong for Trump this week? A lot. This was just a brutal, brutal seven day stretch for him. And the next week isn’t looking any better for him either.
