More House Republican resignations may be on the way
When House Republican Ken Buck announced this week that he’s resigning next week, he didn’t just leave the Republican House majority precariously small. He also made some remarks on his way out the door that suggest it’s about to get even smaller โ and perhaps even drop to zero.
Buck, who’s clearly sick of the direction the Republican House is heading in, let loose when he announced his abrupt resignation. When addressing what his resignation will do to the Republican majority, Buck said “I think it’s the next three people that leave that they’re going to be worried about.”
Dan Rather pointed out that this may well mean that Buck is aware of three more House Republicans who are planning to resign. And Buck would know. He’s been in the House for nearly a decade and he’s surely friends with a number of House Republicans.
Rather is also pointing out what Palmer Report pointed out the other day. As of now all it’ll take is two more House Republicans being temporarily forced out of the building โ whether through scandal or illness or whatever else โ for the Republican majority to drop to zero. We’re at that point now. Stay tuned.
