Donald Trump just handed us a huge gift
In spite of all the years of hype, Donald Trump was never any good at politics. All you need to do is look at how he lost in 2016 by three million votes, and lost in 2020 by seven million votes. Trump is a one-trick pony who has no idea how to appeal to voters in the middle.
Now that Trump is in the midst of cognitive collapse, he’s getting even worse at politics and political strategy. Democrats always want to protect Social Security and Medicare, while Republicans always want to cut it so they can give the money to the wealthy. But Republican politicians all know that they can’t actually admit this. They just spend the election lying about it, and then once they’re in office they try to quietly cut it in the dead of night.
Then there’s Donald Trump, who’s so far gone that he just flat out admitted he wants to cut Social Security and Medicare if he ever gets back into power. This is an absolutely fantastic development. Trump is now on tape admitting he wants to cut these key programs. So now we get to spend the 2024 election cycle using this against Trump and every Republican candidate. Bring it on.
