Donald Trump’s two weeks notice

Even as we keep seeing a major media focus on precisely when Donald Trump’s other three criminal trials will begin, there is surprisingly little focus on Trump’s New York criminal trial. That’s odd, given that the trial begins two weeks from today – and it’s not dependent upon any pending Supreme Court appeals.

To be fair, Trump’s New York criminal trial involves the least serious criminal charges against him. But the trial still centers around thirty-four felony counts, even if they are lower level felony charges.

Even as everyone freaks out (or tries to convince us to freak out) about the timing of Trump’s other three trials, it’s almost as if Trump’s New York trial doesn’t exist. It’s enough to make you wonder if the media is doing this by design. Is the media downplaying the start of Trump’s first trial so that when it gets underway in two weeks, the media can suddenly pretend that it’s some shocking turn of events that Trump is actually on criminal trial?

We’ll see how the media narrative plays out from here. But the reality is that Donald Trump’s first criminal trial begins two weeks from today. We’re talking jury selection process, opening arguments, you name it. It’s all about to get underway. Donald Trump is going on trial. And Donald Trump is going to prison.
