Here’s a curious one. Longtime Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg recently pleaded guilty to having committed perjury in Donald Trump’s New York civil fraud trial. Weisselberg is choosing five more months of prison over flipping on Trump. Weisselberg will still have to testify against Trump at Trump’s upcoming New York criminal trial, but only on the specific matters that Weisselberg has pleaded guilty to.

Even as Weisselberg is preparing to go back to prison, he’s ditching Alina Habba as his attorney, in favor of another Trump-supplied attorney, according to Courthouse News. So what does this mean?

It certainly doesn’t mean Weisselberg is flipping, since Trump is still paying his legal bills. But why ditch Habba? Did Weisselberg decide that it’s Habba’s fault he ended up going down for perjury? Is Trump preparing to move on from Habba on a larger scale? Something is up here. We’ll just have to wait for the other shoe to drop.
