Senile Donald Trump no longer appears to know that he’s “Donald Trump”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has begun forgetting who the people around him are. He thinks Nikki Haley is Nancy Pelosi. He thinks E. Jean Carroll is Marla Maples. He thinks Barack Obama is Joe Biden. He recently had to read the names of his kids off a card and still didn’t get them right. So how long before Trump forgets who he is? There’s evidence that it may already be happening.

During a failed attempt at a speech on Saturday, Donald Trump saw his own name on the teleprompter and read it aloud as if he were talking about some third party:

.
It’s important to note that this isn’t a one off. It’s at least the third time in recent memory that Donald Trump has seen his own name on the teleprompter and read it aloud as if he were referring to some other person. It’s starting to feel like Donald Trump no longer understands that he’s “Donald Trump.”

Given that Trump is now getting so many other public figures confused for each other, it’s entirely plausible that he’s getting confused about who he is. If he thinks that people like Haley and Biden are someone other than who they are, perhaps he thinks that “Donald Trump” is someone other than him. This is only going to get worse for him.
