The beast rears its ugly head

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I’ve never been one to enjoy conventions. Oh, I’ve gone to a few. But the ones I attended always had a rather impersonal quality. I enjoyed some more than others but didn’t find a high level of enjoyment in any of them. However, there is one thing I’m certain about. Any conference I attended was a picnic next to the distorted, savage, uncouth, foul, mind-poisoning event that is CPAC.

For those who don’t know, CPAC refers to the Conservative Political Action Committee. It’s what’s going on right now. And boy, oh boy, if the American public could see this now. I want to tell you about it. I wish to inform you of the sewage that attends this highly classy Gala (sarcasm.) I am hoping you will share this with any undecided voters you may have met in your travels.

Let’s start with the Nazis. If one were to look at CPAC, one would see white supremacists everywhere, mingling happily with Republican elected officials.

“We’re here to overthrow democracy.” You read that correctly. These words were spoken at CPAC by conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec. “We didn’t get all the way there on January 6, but we will endeavor to get rid of it and replace it with this right here.”

What else? Oh yes, we cannot forget the “catfight.” This imaginary fight is between Kamala Harris and Michelle Obama regarding who will replace President Biden on the ticket. You know, of course, that not only will that never happen, but that CPAC attendees know it will never happen.

They need an excuse. They need an excuse to let their racism, sexism, and fear of powerful black women ooze to the surface. So, speculations on this subject are an excellent way of disrespecting two of the most influential black women in the world.

Let’s play pinball. Now, what does one usually get from vendors at conferences? Food perhaps. Drink. Here, attendees found something a little different. There stood a pinball machine, which had as its theme January 6.

Attendees could view this game while drinking “woke tears water”. The Pinball game has several modes, including “peaceful protest”; “it’s a set up” and political prisoners.”

But what of the speakers? There was JD Vance, who mocked Democrats for worrying about Russia.

Matt Gaetz was there, eyebrows looking alarmingly like that nest on his head. He went a bit nuts, as losers like him are wont to do. He ranted about possibly being expelled from Congress. We hope that happens soon.

Donald John Trump also spoke. He called himself a “proud political dissident.” Yes, I know. It’s disgusting. Please allow me to close with a quote, a request, and a theory.

My request is that you let people know of the insanity of the republican party. They’re not only outside the mainstream, the mainstream dwells on a different planet entirely.

“Maybe there is a beast…maybe it’s only us.” This quote from Lord of the Flies perfectly describes what the GOP has become. And my theory?

This beast that Trump built that has now literally become the GOP, will fail precisely BECAUSE there are more of us than them. You see, my friends, WE, TOO, have seen the beast — and it is NOT us and never will be.
