Saw that one coming
It’s always fun to make predictions that end up happening, but they usually take a bit of time to play out. Every once in awhile you happen to hit one right on the head almost immediately.
For instance, on Thursday, I wrote this: “By November, no persuadable voters are going to remember that some no-name special counsel issued a report questioning Joe Biden’s memory. But they are going to see a fully senile Donald Trump on television, confusing his attorney for a refrigerator.”
Then today, Trump dutifully went on a senile bender about a refrigerator. No, it didn’t involve his attorney. But he did claim to have recently witnessed someone shoplifting a refrigerator. You can’t get much more senile than that. Even if someone were using some kind of forklift to steal a refrigerator from an appliance store, there would be no way for an onlooker to know that it was being stolen; it would look like a worker was moving it.
This is a good reminder that while Donald Trump has always made up fake stories that sounded unrealistic, his senility is causing him to make up the kinds of fake stories that are immediately identifiable both as being fake and as being a senile moment. And yeah, he’s now having senile moments involving refrigerators. How much longer before he indeed confuses his attorney for one?
