These new numbers are just ugly for Donald Trump

Polls have largely been unhelpful for much of the year, or last two years, with Democrats consistently overperforming expectations whenever there’s a special election and consistently raking in tons of cash from everyday small donors, despite a narrative that the party – which has always been a patchwork of various communities- is in disarray and doomed, just as it was in 2022 and 2023. That’s why you should take just about every one of them with a grain of salt – even the ones that show us ahead.

There’s one striking bit of data that is on our side, however: a recently released AP poll that shows 64% of Americans will not support the former guy for re-election, with 53% of them solidly opposed to Donald Trump retaking the White House ever again. This is ten points more than the number of survey respondents who were solidly opposed to Joe Biden winning re-election, showing that despite the media efforts to both-sides this race, it’s still clear that a sizable number of people recognize that Donald Trump is a threat to democracy.

This is a number that will likely grow as the election progresses, with more and more people realizing that the race is yet another rematch. You will notice that since 2016 there has been a solid factor in the presidential races: Donald Trump is uniquely terrible and unfit for political office and his presence in each race generally taints how everyone sees the race. This is why we need to join together now – by registering new voters now or making a donation so we can defeat Donald Trump and Republicans everywhere on Nov 5.
