Rudy Giuliani’s new court filing suggests he’s trying to take Donald Trump down with him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Rudy Giuliani has long hinted that he has “insurance” against Donald Trump in case he ever needs it. Giuliani is now so broke that he’s filing for bankruptcy, and he’s been indicted in a case that’s going to send him to prison.

So is Rudy ever going to play that card against Trump? After Trump lost $83.3 million today to E. Jean Carroll, with a perhaps $370 million judgment set to come down any day against Trump in New York, it’s not clear how Trump could even help Rudy financially at this point.

That said, in Rudy’s new bankruptcy filing, he suggests that Trump owes him money for the legal work he did for him. This is odd, for a few reasons. First, Rudy was always supposedly representing Trump for free. It now looks like Rudy doesn’t see it that way. Second, what does Rudy think he’s going to get out of this?

The last time Rudy hinted that he was going to take Trump down with him, Trump responded by hosting a fundraiser to help cover Rudy’s legal fees. But now Rudy is putting Trump’s name in his bankruptcy filing, in a way that could potentially prompt the people seeking money from Rudy to try to get it from Trump. So has Rudy finally decided to take Trump down with him? Stay tuned, there’s something going on here.
