That whole thing about the RNC declaring Donald Trump the “presumptive nominee” just went down the drain

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier today it was reported that the RNC was reviewing a draft resolution to declare Donald Trump the party’s “presumptive nominee” for President. At the time, Palmer Report pointed out that something seemed off about it. The news about the resolution seemed to have been leaked by Trump’s own people, and it appeared to be an attempt at pressuring the RNC into doing something that it wasn’t actually considering.

Sure enough, now Trump (or whoever is running his social media) is already announcing on social media this evening that he doesn’t want the RNC to pass such a resolution. It sure sounds like the RNC informed him that they’re not going to pass the resolution that his allies submitted, and so now Trump is trying to get out ahead of the rejection by saying he didn’t want it anyway.

This is why it’s more important than ever to take everything you read in the media with a grain of salt – especially when it’s coming from inside sources. There’s always an agenda involved when people in politics leak such things to the media. Earlier today the media was acting like this resolution to make Trump the “presumptive nominee” was a done deal. Now it’s not only not happening, it seems pretty obvious that it was never even being considered.
