On Wednesday, President Biden secured one of the biggest endorsements of his campaign, and in a key state that heโ€™ll need to win in 2024. The United Auto Workers (UAW) Union endorsed him for re-election, a move that was fairly inevitable after the president made history in crossing the picket line and securing a successful deal between UAW and Detroitโ€™s Big 3 Manufacturers. Itโ€™s a significant endorsement for President Biden to have in Michigan, which heโ€™ll likely need to get to 270 electoral votes in November – and itโ€™s come rather early in the election.

In his endorsement speech, Union President Shawn Fain laid out a fairly compelling case for President Bidenโ€™s re-election bid: โ€œThis November, we can stand up and elect someone who stands with usโ€ฆor we can elect someone who will divide us and fight us every step of the way.โ€ Fain reminded his audience that when workers protested against General Motors in 2019, Trump wasnโ€™t on their side.

By contrast, we are currently living under the most pro-labor administration in history, which is why weโ€™ve seen one successful strike after another, despite the challenges that 21st century technology presents. As 2024 kicks off, weโ€™ve already got a sizable ground game in the states we need to win. Itโ€™s time to get onboard and help get President Biden re-elected on Nov 5!
