Turns out Donald Trump lost by an even bigger margin than we thought

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has been crying “rigged election” and “voter fraud” so much that even if we don’t believe it, the words are emblazoned on our brains. Imagine how it felt, then, to read that there was an incident in Virginia that resulted in improperly tallied votes-for Joe Biden, not Donald Trump. Oh, the irony of it all. Of course, Biden beat the stew out of Trump in Virginia, so it really doesn’t matter, but for someone so concerned about election errors, Trump hasn’t said a word about this mix-up. Because of this error, President Biden was shorted 1,648 votes but Trump was credited with 2,327 votes that were not his. That means he lost by even more than originally tabulated. Surely, Trump has seen this news, yet he’s still crying foul in the 2020 election. In fact, outlets have reported that Trump is claiming fraud in the 2020 election even more and has said that he expects the 2024 election to be stolen as well. Poor thing.

Errors do happen in elections, but as we see here, not in big enough numbers to make any difference. Biden beat Trump with 60% of the vote in Virginia. Those approximately 4,000 total votes would have made no difference in the outcome. That’s the part that Trump doesn’t seem to comprehend, or he just pretends not to comprehend. Even when some errors were found in Georgia’s vote, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said they were not enough to change the outcome and certainly didn’t give Trump the 11,780 votes he begged Raffensperger to “find.”

Trump’s claims have brought him a “fame” of sorts, and his supporters just eat it up. It is unlikely that any of them would ever understand that other people don’t want Donald Trump. Yeah, he won the Iowa caucus, but so what? He was running against two that were never close to him in numbers, and the extreme weather kept many from the caucus. Trump will brag about it anyway. He thinks he’s the most important person on the planet. Even as he brags, he must be thinking about the withdrawal of his attorneys, Joe Tacopina and two others from his firm. Likely, Trump hasn’t paid them. Trump will now have to find new lawyers, with his trial in the hush money case mere months away.

Our votes in 2024 will be safe, regardless of what Donald Trump says. Even with all the Republican gerrymandering, state Republican leadership, and Republican lies, we can rest assured that if we vote, our votes will count. It is more imperative that we vote in the upcoming elections. The only way to keep Donald Trump from returning to power is our votes. We cannot sit by and hope our neighbors, family, and friends are voting. We need to make the effort ourselves. As you’ve seen, mistakes can happen, but they are rarely big enough to change the outcome. We should focus on keeping Trump out of office and nothing else. Let’s continue to fight for our democracy, and that includes keeping as many Republicans out of office as possible, especially Donald Trump.
