The good the bad and the ugly

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Another year is almost at an end! So quickly has time flown, has it not friends and readers? But you know the old expression — time flies when you’re having fun! What I want to do is a New Year’s wrap-up of sorts by summarizing the good, the bad, and the ugly of 2023.

THE GOOD:

We have managed to win almost every election we need to win this year! That is more than good, it is pretty great!

2023 was indeed the year of the Democrats! Let’s make 2024 even MORE so.

George Santos was finally expelled.

Professional liar George Santos was finally cast out of Congress, making the air a little cleaner and much more lie-free.

Kevin McCarthy lost his job. This most definitely wins the “We Told You So” award. Kevin was voted out as Speaker and is now leaving Congress. Adios, Kevin!

But the best of the good? Indictment. Indictment. Indictment. Indictment.

Donald Trump finally received his comeuppance, becoming the first former President EVER to be indicted — not once, not twice, not thrice but FOUR TIMES! And what fun we had watching Trump be arrested over and over and over. This was the thing that really defined 2023 politics. And we must not forget his mug shot.

Congratulations, Donald, and we wish you many more!

The bad:

We’ve had to watch House Republicans do everything they can to show the American people how incompetent they are. This Congress has done zero good, which makes sense since they all hate each other.

Mike Johnson. We said goodbye to Kevin and welcomed in an extreme radical republican who thinks he’s Moses and is an admirer of purity balls. Not the House’s finest moment.

The media. Sadly, some pundits are more concerned with making things up and promoting fake polls than actually reporting the news.

The ugly:

Book bans. Women suffering over having to carry fetuses because of GOP cruelty. Climate issues as we have seen in many places.

These are the things that will dominate in 2024. Abortion. Climate change. Sensible gun reform. Book bans. All of these issues are important, and they all have the power to move the American people straight to the voting booths to vote Democratic.
