Something is wrong with James Comer
Republicans have pretty much done nothing since gaining the majority except to waste taxpayer money on useless investigations. Their impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden is no less useless. They have not one shred of evidence that Biden has committed any crime, let alone a crime that rises to the level of impeachment. At this point, however, the Republican-led House has no choice but to walk down the road to nowhere that they created, which walk is led by James Comer. So far, Comer has put on one of the most ridiculous displays of incompetence to date. Not only is Comer incompetent, but he’s done the same things that he accuses Biden of doing. Allow me to divert so that you get the full picture of James Comer.
In litigation, a party cannot prevail in a case if he or she has “unclean hands.” This is a doctrine of law called the clean-hands doctrine, which is defined as: “The clean-hands doctrine is invoked when a party seeking equitable relief or claiming a defense based in equity has themselves violated a duty of good faith or has acted unconscionably in connection with the circumstances that have led to the suit.” Obviously, there is no lawsuit involved here, but the principle is the same. Looking at Comer’s “evidence” to date, we see posturing on things of which he himself is guilty. He claimed some nefarious goal when President Biden Biden’s brother paid him back for a loan. He also claimed to have evidence of Hunter Biden “buying his dad’s silence,” with payments that turned out to be repayments for a truck. Comer also loaned his brother money but did it in such a way that it did not appear above board. Yet, he wants to take a straight loan from brother to brother and paint it as something evil.
On top of Comer accusing President Biden of things Comer has done, a billboard has been delivered to Comer’s hometown of Tompkinsville, KY, accusing him of running a shell company with a political donor. The Kentucky Courier-Journal reported on the billboard. According to Comer, the Biden family used shell companies “to shield payments from foreign entities and gain wealth by trading on the family name.” What is Comer doing with his shell company? A report reveals that Comer’s company, Farm Team Properties, is land he co-owns with a donor, and is purposely opaque so that he doesn’t have to include it on his financial disclosure forms. So, If President Biden is guilty of something shady, so is Comer, and Comer cannot claim that his deals are any less shady. Comer, of course, now claims that the donor, Darren Cleary, wasn’t a donor when the company was formed. Yeah, right.
Comer needs to clean up his own kitchen before he goes poking around in others. Besides, this is just a bunch of bullshit. They have no evidence but are proceeding with an impeachment inquiry. I wouldn’t pay a dime for anything they do let alone give them six-figure salaries. We need to rid Washington of these people sooner rather than later.
