Rudy Giuliani blows it on the first day of his trial

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $2097 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

Rudy Giuliani lost his civil trial against Georgia election workers by summary judgment before it even began. So when the trial got underway on Monday, things couldn’t get any worse for Giuliani, could they? Well, things did in fact get even worse for Rudy, because he’s an idiot.

Giuliani started things off by arriving late to court, which is a good way to signal to the judge that you’re not serious about even trying to defend yourself. Then Giuliani went up to reporters and proceeded to repeat his false claims about Georgia election workers – which probably opens the door to them to seek even greater damages.

In other words Rudy Giuliani is actively shooting himself in the foot, just like we all expected him to. Giuliani’s attorney argued on Monday that if Giuliani loses this trial it’ll effectively be the end of him. It feels like the ever-bumbling Rudy is trying to finish himself off before the legal system can. Of course he’s going to prison anyway.
