The honeymoon is over. It looks like Republican crazies have already soured on their new toy — Mike Johnson. Johnson, who just the other day suggested he was hard at work blurring the faces of the January Sixth insurrectionists so they can’t be prosecuted, appears to be angering everyone these days.

Axios reports that “hopes that Johnson’s election would calm the underlying tensions that triggered McCarthy’s removal are quickly dissipating. The middle doesn’t like him. The hard right doesn’t like him. Nobody likes him, perhaps leaving people to wonder — just how long will Johnson be able to keep his job?

The best way to figure THAT out is to look at past behavior. All signs point to the fact that when the honeymoon is over for any particular house speaker, a divorce is imminent. After all, all one really has to do is look at the hapless Kevin McCarthy to figure that out.

The middle is angry at Johnson for his comments about blurring the insurrectionist’s faces. Some of them are also pissed over Johnson’s apparent unwavering loyalty to George Santos. THAT certainly won’t help Republicans in New York. The Alt-right thinks he hasn’t gone far ENOUGH in declaring war on Democrats. So what is a Speaker to do?

Johnson has been, as of late, acting more insane than ever. Perhaps he hopes to hold onto his job that way. Ah, Johnson has yet to learn the lesson of the speaker before him. And that lesson is– there IS nobody who could possibly please the whole house.

This is because the house has irreparable cracks in its foundation that nobody could ever begin to repair. It is a toxic house that holds nothing except anger and discontent. And it seems Johnson is going to be learning that lesson sooner rather than later.
