House Republicans are cracking up right in front of us
So George Santos has been expelled. One would think that would be the end of the story, right? Right? Well — it isn’t. The nuts have cracked, and they’re pretty bitter. “SHAMEFUL!” Marjorie Taylor Greene went — well — NUTS on social media yelling at her own party! This was a sight to see. The cracking of the nuts had begun.
Speaker Mike Johnson appeared crestfallen, saying it was a really sad day. Republican Rep and Scarlet Letter connoisseur, Nancy Mace whined that Santos deserved “the presumption of innocence.” All over the place, from Congress to Twitter and all points in between, the nuts shed their leathery shells and let their insanity pour forth.
Byron Donalds of Florida told reporters he was “in angst.” Wow. Someone (Could it be Donalds?) decided to let their inner drama king flow. “My angst is not about what George was accused of,” he said profoundly. “It is about the process.”
Process? Why would Donalds be “angst-ridden” about the process? There was a vote, and that vote favored expulsion. Sounds pretty angst-free to me. Of course, I am not a Republican nut (thank goodness for that).
George Santos, too, unloaded on social media, whining, lying, and complaining as only George Santos could do. However, the sane people breathed sighs of relief. Let the nuts continue their bitterness. The air does feel a bit cleaner with Santos out of Congress.
