Everyone piles on after House Republican Clay Higgins’ bizarre “ghost buses” meltdown
Republicans have been having a terrible week, with Kevin McCarthy allegedly physically assaulting a fellow House Republican, James Comer calling people smurfs, and Markwayne Mullin threatening to beat up a witness during a hearing. Now House Republican Clay Higgins is trying to top them all in the self-humiliation department.
During a hearing today, Clay Higgins pushed the laugh out loud conspiracy theory that the FBI sent “ghost buses” to the Capitol in order to stage the January 6th attack:

Higgins’ meltdown about “ghost buses” was so bizarre, FBI Director Christopher Wray struggled to avoid laughing while repeating the phrase. Where is Higgins even getting this stuff? Did he fall asleep last night while watching Ghostbusters, and then dream about ghost buses? Next, will he claim that the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man was responsible for January 6th? This is just plain embarrassing for Higgins and House Republicans.
