Kim Reynolds just gave away that even Republicans think it’s over for Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. At this point Ron DeSantis has become the poster child for full scale collapse and falling out of contention. Yet Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, who has serious political ambitions, just endorsed DeSantis. So why would she choose now to latch onto DeSantis, who’s not even in contention? Because Republicans don’t really see Donald Trump as being in contention either.

Trump is set to testify tomorrow in a trial that’ll bankrupt him, and then he’ll go on criminal trial four times, and go to prison. On top of that, he’s plainly senile – and that senility has been rapidly accelerating of late.

Kim Reynolds is pretty clearly betting on Trump not even being in contention by the time 2024 is all said and done. It’s not that she necessarily thinks DeSantis is going to climb back into contention after Trump goes by the wayside. It’s that by endorsing DeSantis, Reynolds is preemptively insulating herself now from what she expects will be Trump’s inevitable collapse.

Keep in mind that someone like Kim Reynolds has no moral compass. She’s not trying to get on the morally correct side of anything. She simply thinks Trump is toast, and she’s trying to best position herself accordingly. Even as the media keeps screaming that he’s somehow more viable than ever, his own Republican Party doesn’t see it that way at all.
