Letitia James fires back in Ivanka Trump dispute

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When the courts ruled months ago that Ivanka Trump was exempt from being a defendant in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil fraud case due to the statute of limitations, it automatically meant that Ivanka would have to testify against the remaining defendants. It’s just how the law works.

Of course Donald Trump very much doesn’t want Ivanka to have to testify against him, so he’s filed a bunch of nonsense motions aimed at excluding her as a witness. But nothing works that way, and today Letitia James fired back with a filing explaining why Ivanka clearly has to testify under the law.

To be clear, there is no possible way for Ivanka Trump to avoid giving incriminating testimony against Donald Trump. These kinds of nonsense filings are always very quickly shot down, and they don’t end up delaying testimony by even a single day.

Ivanka can’t just “choose” not to testify. That’s not a thing. She’d get hauled away for obstruction. Nor can Ivanka take the stand and plead the fifth, because the courts have already ruled that she has no liability in this case to begin with. Nor can she lie on the stand, because the facts are already known, and she’d go down for perjury.

So we can look forward to Ivanka Trump having to give damning testimony against her father and brothers soon. Whether she wants to testify or not is irrelevant.
