“He’s done” – more bad news tonight for Jim Jordan
Jim Jordan still insists he’s going to hold a third round of voting for Speaker of the House on Thursday morning, but by all accounts he’s likely on track to lose yet again. House Republican John Rutherford has declared that “this race is over” for Jordan. And he’s not the only one piling on.
House Republican Don Bacon now is publicly saying this about Jim Jordan:
Rep. Don Bacon on Jim Jordan: “I believe he's done. He needs to withdraw from this. He's going to lose more votes tomorrow, I know it…He doesn't have any pathway forward to 217.” pic.twitter.com/RqCuNneIQU

.
We’ll see what happens on Thursday. But it’s difficult to imagine that these House Republicans would say something this definitive against Jim Jordan if they thought he still had a realistic chance of becoming Speaker. After all, Jordan is a vindictive prick who could make their lives difficult if he does win. So it sounds like Jordan’s biggest detractors think he really is “done.”
